![]() Stop by the Welcome and Farewell Center, located in Building 2150 Waller Hall Liggett Ave. Fort Lewis, WA (253) 912-2150 FtLewisFamilyHousing@eqr.com Mission Statement: "Creating Communities that set the standard for development and service to enable the families of Lewis-McChord to live the American dream they protect." Lewis-McChord was awarded Post of the Year for 2002 by Army Times DID YOU KNOW ............ Lewis-McChord Communities has taken great steps toward providing soldiers and their families with quality family housing. Lewis-McChord Communities is a result of the Residential Communities Initiative program initiated by the Department of Army. The Army has joined with Equity Residential and their development partner, Lincoln Property Company from the private sector, to oversee all aspects of the family housing communities. They will build new homes, renovate existing homes and improve the quality of communities with trails, recreation centers and other amenities. Residing in on-post housing is voluntary, except for personnel assigned to key and essential positions, as designated by the Installation Commander. All soldiers with a family housing requirement may apply for on-post housing. All in-processing soldiers to Fort Lewis are required to attend a Housing briefing. The briefings are held every weekday at 0900 in the Housing Office. Eligible soldiers wishing to apply for on-post housing may fill out an application at the Housing briefing. The process requires choice of a neighborhood, placement by bedroom requirement and rank. Soldiers are responsible to keep the Housing Office informed of changes in eligibility status, unit, duty and home phone numbers. The waiting lists are updated weekly and can be checked by visiting the Housing Office. Once assigned on-post housing, soldiers are required to attend a fire safety briefing. For more information, please call Lewis-McChord Communities at (253) 912-2150 or email us at ftlewisfamilyhousing@eqr.com. Your quality of life is our first priority. At Lewis-McChord Communities, our goal is to make you feel at home while you are assigned to the Home of "America's Corps." |
